Mr. Makridis joined TAMARACK in 2008 as the Chief Operating Officer (COO), bringing a broad

background of Antiterrorism Force Protection (ATFP), Program Management, Systems Engineering,

Business Development, and Black-Belt Level Lean Six Sigma certification to this fast growing, strategically focused, 8(a) Small Disadvantaged Business. Mr. Makridis is a recognized senior ATFP and Waterfront Protection Subject Matter Expert (SME) currently providing direct support to the CNIC N3S Systems Engineering Directorate, and the Waterfront Protection Capability Systems Engineer and Electronic Harbor Security System (EHSS) program manager. Since joining TAMARACK, Mr. Makridis has provided support to the Commander Navy Installations Command (CNIC) “KAIZEN” AT Technology Insertion Team and was designated as the Lead CNIC/OPNAV N46 Technical Agent for the Electronic Harbor Security System (EHSS) operational evaluation. Mr. Makridis has been directly responsible for identification and analysis of existing and emergent Surveillance and ATFP technologies that provide maximum protection to personnel and assets

across the U.S Navy Enterprise. In addition, Mr. Makridis served as an Access Control SME to the Office of Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Installations and Environment (ASN (I&E)).


Mr. Makridis is a 1985 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture. He served for 27 years across a variety of assignments on both active and reserve duty and retired in 2013 as a CAPTAIN while assigned as the N5 (Plans) Assistance Chief of Staff (ACOS) to Commander, THIRD Fleet Maritime Air Operations Unit, where he was responsible for evaluating Fleet exercise performance and briefing senior, flag level staff during major Fleet and Joint/Combined readiness and ATFP exercises. In his capacity as the N5 ACOS, Mr. Makridis provided instructor level knowledge of Fleet Force Protection (FP) plans and assessment of vulnerabilities during deployed and ashore strike group operations. Mr. Makridis is a U.S. Navy F/A-18 combat-proven carrier aviator and with 624 arrested landings and over 7,000 hours flying high performance aircraft in demanding leadership environments.


Prior to joining TAMARACK Technologies, Mr. Makridis held several senior executive management positions, serving most notably as an Assistant Vice President of ATFP and Homeland Security initiatives at Ocean Systems Engineering Corp (OSEC), which was acquired by Qinetiq North America (QNA) in 2007. There he spearheaded business development efforts focusing on AT Command and Control software development and implementation, port security initiatives, and tactical aviation issues. Mr. Makridis led the completion of the Local Situational Awareness Segment (LSAS®) for the Distributed Common Ground Station – Navy (DCGS-N), through a successful joint integrated Maritime Domain Awareness Limited Objective Experiment (MDA LOE), managed a team of AT SMEs in providing in-depth assessment of threat readiness posture, assessing vulnerabilities relating to terrorist attack for all military installations within Naval Region Southwest, and successfully completed a comprehensive Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) assessing autonomous moving land target systems for U.S. Navy fixed and rotary winged aircrew training.


Outside his duties at TAMARACK, Mr. Makridis is involved in family, civic, and church activities.
